Foyer Transformation: Console Table Refresh

Modern Farmhouse Foyer Makeover on a Budget

Ready for a home transformation? We’re thrilled to share our modern farmhouse foyer makeover! This project was all about creating a bright, inviting space without breaking the bank. Join us as we take you through the before and after, revealing how we achieved this look with smart choices and a bit of DIY magic.

Our foyer wasn’t always this welcoming. Here’s what it looked like before:

Before - Dark and Dated Foyer

As you can see, the original foyer lacked character and warmth. It was a builder-grade space that needed a major dose of personality. Through a combination of savvy shopping, DIY projects, and a clear vision, we were able to completely transform this space.

We’re proud of the progress we’ve made.

Before & After Foyer Makeover

Over time, we’ve developed a clear understanding of our decor style, which makes pulling rooms together so much easier. (Modern farmhouse foyer makeover all the way!) We started with a focal point and built from there.

The Transformation Begins: Shiplap and a New Vision

The first major change was the addition of shiplap. It instantly added character and texture to the space. Once the shiplap was up, the rest of the design started to fall into place.

Our next challenge was the console table, which desperately needed an upgrade.

Console Table Before

We originally purchased this table on Craigslist. While it was the perfect size, the finish left a lot to be desired.

Fortunately, we had a plan! We decided to give it a fresh look with paint and a new top.

Breathing New Life into the Console Table

For this furniture makeover, we partnered with some friends. We chose the color “Ash” to create a strong contrast. I love how this paint has depth, even though it’s a matte finish.

We also added pine planks to the top and applied a DIY stain.

The result was even better than we hoped for. Now, our foyer is truly a space we love!

Adding the Finishing Touches

The final design touches are what truly bring a space to life.

Our DIY book page botanical art fits perfectly.

Decor accessories can be expensive, but we found many budget-friendly options.

Decorating with old books is a great way to add personality, and they are typically inexpensive.

Decorated Console Table

We found an Ikea plant, which adds a touch of life to the space without requiring much maintenance.

We all know I can’t keep a live plant alive.

A vintage desk fan that we found online is one of our favorite finds.

Thrift store finds play a big role in creating a curated and unique look.

We found this picnic basket at a thrift store.

We gave it a quick gray wash, and now it’s a stylish and functional storage solution.

Another great find was this metal scroll lamp, which we paired with a new lampshade.
