Nursery Makeover Update: The Floors!
This week’s nursery update: we’ve finally had our hardwood floors refinished! It’s amazing how much a fresh coat of finish can transform a space.
Our contractor did an amazing job bringing them back to life. While the floors were being worked on, the dust and fumes sent us on a short escape to my parents’ house. (Don’t worry, those black spots were just remnants of rug padding! Phew!)
With the floors nearing completion, it’s the perfect time to focus on the final touches, particularly the all-important nursery glider.
Why a Good Nursery Glider is a Must-Have
When my first child was born, we splurged on a fancy convertible crib and, shall we say, economized on the glider. Lesson learned! We realized the convertible crib didn’t get converted, and she didn’t sleep in it for months. But the cheap glider? Oh boy, did we use it. We wore that thing out!
The moral of the story: Invest in a comfortable, high-quality glider or rocking chair. You will spend a lot of time in it, especially during those late-night feedings and early-morning cuddles.
