Why Choose Neutral Fall Decor? Save Money and Maximize Your Style
I’m not a fan of orange decor, especially in the fall. And, with the season approaching, I’m sticking to my guns!
I’ve embraced a “minimalize all the things!” approach lately. Decluttering is a constant process (and a popular topic in the Bless’er House Facebook Group). Less is definitely more when it comes to decorating, including the mantel.
This year, I’m stepping back from the traditional “pumpkin spice and everything nice” aesthetic.
Here’s why:
- It’s more budget-friendly in the long run.
- It takes up less storage space.
- It allows for endless decorating combinations with existing decor.
- It requires less time and effort for seasonal changes.
I’ve teamed up with Wayfair and their brand Birch Lane to share some amazing neutral fall decor finds from their Labor Day Sale. It’s a great opportunity to declare war on orange and embrace the beauty of (faux) greenery!
I know, I’m a bit of a rebel in the world of fall decor. But can we still be friends if I promise to include at least one pumpkin somewhere in my home?
I’m not an orange fan, and while I like pumpkins, they’re only suitable for about two months of the year. Greenery, on the other hand, is versatile and works year-round.
Why spend a lot of money on decorations that are only suitable for a short time?
If you’re strategic about your decor and choose quality pieces that work year-round, you can “cheat” the system and make fall decorating easier.
This year, I got a faux Japanese maple tree, which I’ve had in my Birch Lane shopping cart since April. It’s beautiful, and it’s perfect for fall!
Even better?
It’s a classic that can stay in that corner for almost a year, providing great value.
These faux olive branches can be used all year. Pair them with pops of red, and you can easily transition from fall to Christmas.
Another benefit?
They won’t die! I don’t have to water plants or take care of them, which is a lifesaver.
And I don’t have to worry about a mess when leaves fall off.
With this little faux nandina tree, I don’t have to worry about my almost 1-year-old dumping dirt out of the pot.
What I love about these pieces is that they all have a realistic, designer look, which I love about the decor from Birch Lane.
The green is here to stay, and the orange can take a hike!

I’ve rounded up some of my other favorite neutral fall decor pieces from the Wayfair and Birch Lane sales that are suitable for any season, if you’re not into the traditional fall colors.
I’ll be over here sipping my #PSL and shopping in my sea of faux greenery.
Are you going the neutral route this year? Have you found that it’s cheaper and easier in the long run? Or am I the only one?
